Ascending the stairs from the living room, one finds three good-sized bedrooms on the second floor. Each bedroom has its own generous closet. There is large linen closet adjacent to the full bathroom with its original Art-Deco cast iron bathtub in very good condition.
Downstairs from the living room is a full basement, half of which has been finished for use as a family room, or man-cave. The family room has built-in bookcases, and swinging shelves that conceal access to the gas meter, and water shut-off. The unfinished portion of the basement houses the laundry appliances, hot water heater, and the boiler for the hot water radiator heating system. Additionally, there is a full bath in the basement, and a one car garage is built into the basement in the classic Airlite style. Out back, the rear of the property features a 10 x 33 concrete driveway with a 10 x 20 carport.
The main level has the original oak flooring, and porcelain tile in the kitchen and powder room. The second level has wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms and hall, and ceramic tile in the bathroom. The finished basement area has wall to wall carpet, and the basement full-bathroom is floored with porcelain tile.
All the ceilings have been drywalled so there are no issues with failing plaster ceilings. All interior and exterior doors have been stripped to bare wood, primed and painted, and include the original mortise locksets, brass escutcheons, and period correct brass doorknobs.
The electrical service includes a 100 Amp Cutler Hammer breaker panel, and all receptacles are NEMA 15 Amp grounded receptacles, properly wired. All water supply piping is copper. Drain-waste-vent piping is original cast iron and steel and newer PVC. The pressure reducing valve at the water main was rebuilt in October of 2020. The water heater was replaced in 2021.
The furnace is a natural gas fired boiler, installed in 2009. Five of the seven original hot water radiators have been stripped/sandblasted, and repainted. The other two radiators are concealed by enclosures. Each of the three bedrooms has a ceiling fan, as does the porch and stairwell.
The property is located off Frederick Rd. about one mile inside the Baltimore beltway (Interstate 695). It is approximately 2.5 miles to Interstate 95, less than 4 miles to Interstate 70, and 3 miles to the Maryland MARC station in Halethorpe, with convenient access to Washington D.C.s Union Station. The home is within walking distance of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), and close to the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville campus.
